Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

©CARYNSCORNERBTQ 2022

Thank you to all who have followed me over the past two years! Wow, two years, where has time gone? 2022 is almost done! As we welcome a new year we also welcome changes. I personally don’t like change but I hope the coming changes to the Kedge Anchor will inspire others to continue to walk closer to God and continue to offer hope.

This will be the last post until 2023!! Wow 2023!! God is our only hope for the new year. That is one thing that will never change. Our God is a big God and He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We never need to worry about Him changing.

So just a few changes that you will see, the coloring pages and Memorize Mondays are going away, maybe for awhile, maybe come back looking different, I dunno, haven’t decided. I have decided to combine my art – Caryn’s Corner and The Kedge Anchor. The two are just merging and to make my life simple and hoping to make a bigger impact combing the two made sense. Weekly devotional blogs will stay.

There is some really cool content coming up so please stay tuned. And thank you again to all my followers. Stay anchored in Hope!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Where is He?

Photo by Mabel Amber on Pexels.com

Happy Friday Eve! Today’s post is a poem that I am proud to share, written by my sister several years ago. It’s hard NOT to see God in anything. Either on the mountain top, in the valley or anywhere in between we can see God if we are open to Him.

In the sunrise,
In the dawn,
In the chill of a frosty morn,
Where is He?

In the sand,
In the sea,
In the waves that beat on me,
Where is He?

In a tiny, feathered wing,
In the choir where angels sing,
In the snow that’s falling fast,
In the towering evergreen,
In a blade of grass that’s barely seen,
Where is He?

In the mind,
In the eye,
In the heart,
He’s quite close by.
He was with Noah in the flood
And on the cross He shed His blood
Quiet, softly He’ll creep in
And wash away the stain of sin.

Gladly He’ll take full control,
If you will let Him in your soul,
So don’t delay.
The time is right.
Won’t you please let Jesus
Become your light?
He’s waiting for you to let Him in,
But you can’t hear Him knocking above the din.
In the quiet…
In the night..
Just let Him in,
The time is right.
He is here!!!!

August 29, 2022 Pslam 146:5

Today’s coloring page and Psalm 146:5 made me think of the Israelites wondering in the wilderness. Their grumbling and complaining caused them to doubt and disobey God. And it’s really easy to do. How often do you find yourself complaining? It can appear that we are ungrateful for what God has provided. Like a child who doesn’t appreciate the amount of cookies the parent allows him or her to eat and can throw a tantrum because more was expected.

God always provides what we need. We just aren’t always expecting what He gives us, be it more or less, we always have an idea of the outcome we want whilst God has His own plan and purpose. We need to have open minds to what God has for us.

The remedy for this is to recall how God has provided in the past and be thankful for His provisions. Being joyful and thankful, recalling God’s goodness is hope to those who have the Lord their God as their helper

Ephesians 3:12 – July 11, 2022

Happy Monday!!! Hope everyone enjoyed a great celebration this past Fourth of July! Our country may be going through some tough and turbulent times right now, but God is in control and we are still a free country. For that we can be truly thankful to God.

Some of you may have noticed that scripture memorization here happens in different translations. I don’t think God expects us to remember every translation or just one. For myself, different translations help me to better understand the original words of Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, etc.

For me the goal is to have the meaning in my heart and mind. The best I am going to do with my memory is have a general idea where the scripture lives, (numbers aren’t my jam) if I can recall the book, I’m good and even then those wires can cross. I hope these coloring pages help.

Please remember to like and share. Thank you.

July 1, 2022 Galatians 5:1

There have been many men and women who have given their lives for our freedom. Posting a little early for the holiday weekend. Take some time to make some space for creativity and relaxation, print this coloring page, pour yourself a cool glass of lemonade and relax. Remember that God is still in control, He sees what is going on in our world, it’s not a surprise to Him. We still live in a free country.

Happy 4th of July!

May 23, 2022 – Proverbs 31:10

The Proverbs 31 woman always made me depressed. I can never live up to her. But what Proverbs 31 is, is a mother explaining to her son the qualities he should look for in a wife. It’s just a guide not a command. Phew that takes a load off.

HE IS RISEN!!!!

John 24:6 -“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee”

Jesus has risen, He is alive today and here with us. His word tell us He will never leave us or forsake us. The Bible tells us in the Old and New Testaments that He will never leave us or forsake us, Deuteronomy 31:8, Hebrews 13:5. God said it to His people in the OT and He says it in the NT. When Jesus came to this earth, the law and the requirements for sacrifice were no longer needed. The Ten Commandments were summed up in two, Mark 12:28-31-

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

But God carried over the promise to never leave us or forsake us from the OT to the NT. That must mean something.

March 21, 2022 – Psalm 90:17

Is it really luck? Is it all by chance? Sure some things take work and require action. But God does have some say in what we do, right? I mean nature, the world, the universe, didn’t just happen. C’mon there has to be a force behind it. Even science says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. God’s hand, His breath is behind all that we see and experience on earth, the ocean, the breeze, the trees, birds, flowers are all designed and created by Him!

So may the work of our hands, the force behind our hands, the thoughts into our steps that take us places, may He confirm them. Acknowledge the work of His hands.

March 7, 2022 – Psalm 5:12

Happy March! Where does time go? When you think of the month of March, St.Patrick’s Day most likely comes to mind. Maybe luck o’ the Irish, leprechauns and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

But with God, it’s not luck. Nothing is random. God is in control and it’s His favor and on us and blessings that He bestows on us. A flat tire may look like bad luck, but God may have allowed that flat tire to happen to prevent an accident.

So as you color these pages remember that the good and what seems bad all come from God. Evil does exist because of the fall of man, but God sent His Son to take care of that. What happened to Jesus seems bad, it was bad but it was God’s way of providing us the greatest gift, salvation.

February 28, 2022 – Mark 12:31

Loving your neighbor could be the same as loving your enemy. Are you loving your neighbors? We all live in a fallen world, no one is perfect. You could be the difficult one to your neighbor, think about it. God is all about repairing relationships. After all He sent His only Son to die for us on the cross and to rise again on the third day so that we could spend eternity with Him. That’s is how He showed us love, while we were still imperfect and still His enemy, Christ died for us.

How can you love your neighbor today?
